Lisbon, April 13, 2026 (Lusa) – The Lisbon stock market was among Europe’s biggest fallers on Monday, with the benchmark index falling 1.04% to 9,359.51 points, Teixeira Duarte and Mota-Engil leading the declines, dropping over 4% and 3%, respectively.
Of the 16 companies listed on the PSI (Portuguese Stock Index), 14 shares fell while only two rose.
Teixeira Duarte led the losses, shedding 4.22% to €0.43, followed by Mota-Engil, which retreated 3.11% to €4.80. Several other companies saw devaluations exceeding 2%, including EDP Renováveis (down 2.84% to €14.05), REN (down 2.42% to €3.83), and CTT (down 2.37% to €6.60).
A group of six firms closed with losses of over 1%: BCP fell 1.55% to €0.89, Semapa dropped 1.54% to €22.35, and NOS lost 1.53% to €5.48. Altri declined 1.43% to €4.83, Corticeira Amorim fell 1.19% to €6.63 and Navigator lost 1.12% to €3.36.
Lighter losses affected EDP (down 0.93% to €4.69), Ibersol (down 0.88% to €11.24), and Sonae (down 0.49% to €2.04).
Jerónimo Martins and Galp were the only stocks to rise on Monday. Jerónimo Martins climbed 1.25% to €21.10, while Galp grew 1.19% to €19.55.
Major European markets also closed lower on Monday. London fell 0.17%, Paris dropped 0.29%, Frankfurt slipped 0.26%, Madrid retreated 0.99%, and Milan declined 0.17%.
