Lisbon, March 11, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI index rising 0.58% to 9,076.37 points and Mota-Engil driving gains, while the main European markets returned to losses.
Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index) 12 rose, three fell and REN remained unchanged at €3.85.
Leading the gains was Mota-Engil, which rose 4.55% to €4.78.
Other notable gains included Galp, which rose 2.13% to €20.11, and Sonae SGPS, which rose 1.68% to €1.94.
With gains of less than 1% were Semapa (€22.25), CTT (€6.85), EDP Renováveis (€12.99), Jerónimo Martins (€21.60), Ibersol (€10.85), Navigator (€3.33), Altri (€4.72), Teixeira Duarte (€0.48) and EDP (€4.31).
In the opposite direction, BCP led the declines, falling 0.83% to €0.83.
NOS (€5.29) and Corticeira Amorim (€6.35) also fell by less than 1%.
Elsewhere in Europe, Frankfurt fell 1.37%, London 0.56%, Madrid 0.53% and Paris 0.19%, one day after recording strong gains.
