NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday received at Baabda Palace, the Turkish Ambassador to Lebanon, Murat Lütem, with whom he discussed the current situation in Lebanon and the region, as well as Lebanon's position in this regard.
President Aoun also received at Baabda Palace British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell, and briefed him on the situation in Lebanon and the military developments.
The British Ambassador reiterated his country's support for Lebanon's stability, sovereignty, and security.
Additionally, President Aoun received the Chargé d'Affaires of the German Embassy in Lebanon, Yasmina Raya, who was briefed on Lebanon's stance on the current military developments and the government's decision to implement the exclusivity of weapons in the hands of the Lebanese state.
This afternoon, President Aoun received the Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Abdul Rahman Hadid, who affirmed his country's steadfast position -under the leadership of King Abdullah II- in support of Lebanon's stability and prosperity. The Jordanian diplomat also emphasized the importance of restoring calm in Lebanon and backing the efforts of the Lebanese government in all measures it takes to protect its security and sovereignty, and to activate the work of its legitimate institutions.
On another note, President Aoun received a phone call from the Secretary of State of the Vatican, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, who confirmed the Holy See's support for Lebanon during these difficult times and its readiness to assist in alleviating the suffering of the Lebanese people.
President Aoun expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the positions of His Holiness Pope Leo XIV towards Lebanon and the Lebanese people.
