Lisbon, Feb. 25, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market remained in positive territory on Wednesday, stabilising after a stronger rise at the opening.
At 9:30 a.m. in Lisbon, about an hour and a half after the opening, the main Portuguese index, the PSI, was up 0.19% to 9,286.80 points, with 13 stocks up, two down and REN unchanged at €3.82 per share.
The 0.19% rise compares with a 0.42% gain moments after the opening.
Mota-Engil was the stock that gained the most, rising 1.32% to €5.36, followed by CTT, up 1.26% to €7.26, and Altri, up 1.15% to €4.85.
Also in the green were Teixeira Duarte, up 0.77% to €0.52, Navigator, up 0.53% to €3.43, Ibersol, up 0.44% to €11.5, and Semapa, up 0.41% to €24.4.
Sonae and NOS both rose 0.40% to €1.99 and €5.07, respectively.
BCP advanced 0.35% to €0.91, Corticeira Amorim 0.29% to €6.97, Galp 0.24% to €18.46, and Jerónimo Martins 0.09% to €22.10.
Conversely, EDP Renováveis lost 1.70% to €13.27 and EDP fell 0.02% to €4.42.
EDP Renováveis announced today that it made a profit of €216 million last year.
The main European stock markets were up today, awaiting new macroeconomic data and results from companies such as Nvidia.
At 08:30, London was up 0.92%, Milan 0.79%, Madrid 0.59%, Frankfurt 0.33%, and Paris 0.27%.
Wall Street also ended higher on Tuesday, with the Dow Jones up 0.76%, the Nasdaq up 1.05% and the S&P 500 up 0.77%.
In macroeconomic terms, investors are awaiting the publication of the German confidence indicator, German GDP and final data on the consumer price index in the eurozone.
Investors also remain attentive to the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, Washington's relations with Iran, and the publication of new data on the performance of companies such as Nvidia, which announces its results today.
The euro was trading higher at $1.179, while gold rose 0.79% to $5,184.74 and silver 3.34% to $90.34.
Bitcoin recovered 1.51% to $65,036.3, and a barrel of Brent, the benchmark for Europe, rose 0.40% to $71.05.
