Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Number without electricity rises back up to 45,000

Lisbon, Feb. 13, 2026 (Lusa) - The number of E-Redes customers without electricity on the mainland has risen again, currently standing at 45,000, due to new faults and flooding, mostly in the areas most affected by Storm Kristin.

In a report at 8:00 a.m., the company indicated that, in the most critical area, there were still around 36,000 customers without power.

In the note, the company reinforces the warning that if fallen or damaged electrical infrastructure is identified, the population should stay away and report the situation (telephone 800 506 506 or balcaodigital.e-redes.pt).

On Thursday, in its previous report, E-Redes indicated that at 8 a.m. a total of 33,000 customers were without power due to faults, most of them, 25,000, in areas affected by the Kristin depression that occurred two weeks ago.

At the time, more than one million customers were left without power.

Sixteen people died in Portugal as a result of the Kristin, Leonardo and Marta depressions, which also caused many hundreds of injuries and displaced people.

The total or partial destruction of homes, businesses and equipment, the fall of trees and structures, the closure of roads, schools and transport services, and the cutting of power, water and communications, floods and inundations are the main material consequences of the storm.

The Central, Lisbon and Tagus Valley and Alentejo regions are the most affected.

The Government has extended the state of emergency until Sunday for 68 municipalities and announced support measures worth up to €2.5 billion.
