Lisbon, Feb. 4, 2026 (Lusa) - The Lisbon stock market closed higher on Wednesday, with the PSI rising 0.61% to 8,881.79 points, renewing the 16-year highs that had already been reached in the morning session.
Of the 16 companies included in the benchmark PSI (Portuguese Share Index), 11 rose, four fell and Ibersol remained unchanged at €10.65.
Leading the gains was retailer Jerónimo Martins, which rose 3.28% to €20.78.
Other major gains included Teixeira Duarte, which rose 3.18% to €0.49, NOS, which rose 2.10% to €4.61, Mota-Engil, which also rose 2.10% to €4.67, Altri, which rose 2.04% to €4.51, Sonae SGPS, which rose 1.76% to €1.85, CTT, which rose 1.72% to €7.08, Navigator, which rose 1.55% to €3.28, and REN, which rose 1% to €3.54.
Corticeira Amorim (€6.83) and Galp (€16.99) saw increases of less than 1%.
In the opposite direction, BCP bank led the declines, falling 0.89% to €0.93.
Also with declines of less than 1% were EDP Renováveis (€13.13), EDP (€4.32) and Semapa (€22.5).
Elsewhere in Europe, the main indexes in Paris rose 1.01% and London 0.85%, while Frankfurt fell 0.72% and Madrid 0.09%.
