Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Stock market closes with PSI index off 0.39% against Europe trend

Lisbon,May.26,2023(Lusa)-The benchmark Portuguese Stock Index(PSI) fell today by 0.39% to 5,866.03points, contrary to the gains of the European stock markets.
Of the 16 listed companies that make up the PSI index, six closed higher, nine lower and one unchanged.
Altri led the declines, falling 3.33% to €4.12 after having presented results on Thursday after the market closed.
The net result of Altri's operations reached €19.6 million in the first quarter of this year, a reduction of 34.3% year-on-year, the group said in a statement.
Greenvolt also registered a drop of over 2% (-2.50% to €6.24), the same happening with Sonae (-2.12% to €0.92).
NOS lost 1.39% to €3.55, EDP Renováveis fell 1.20% to €18.89, CTT fell 1.19% to €3.33 and EDP retreated 0.76% to €4.54.
In the opposite direction, Mota-Engil rose 1.68% to €1.94, Corticeira Amorim 1.40% to €10.14 and Jerónimo Martins 0.63% to €22.52.
Galp and BCP appreciated 0.24% and ended the session worth €10.39 and €0.21 respectively.
The main European stock markets closed with gains, encouraged by the prospect of an agreement in the negotiations on the US debt ceiling. Paris rose 1.24%, Frankfurt 1.20%, Milan 1.16%, Madrid 0.82% and London 0.74%.
