Lusa - Business News - Portugal: Director-General for Health 'guarantees' reliability of data disclosed

Lisbon, Mar. 25,2020 (Lusa) – Portugal’s director-general of health on Wednesday said that the numbers of deaths and Covid-19 infections in the DG Health Bulletin are "absolutely correct" and that the more detailed data will be obtained through a supplementary system.
According to Graça Freitas, the work of data collection that is disseminated daily is being done through two very consistent platforms that record deaths and cases of the disease.
At the same press conference, Freitas said that all data on deaths are “unquestionable" because they are reported, until midnight, through an electronic platform.
"However, there are some details which may not be included on the forms. We can only collect information from forms which are filled in, but I want to say that we are working locally to obtain this information as time goes by," she said.
Freitas noted that there may be small mismatches in time or the totality of the coverage of the fields, but there is no goal of deceiving, lying or omitting.
In Portugal, there are 43 deaths, 10 more than the day before (+30.3%), and 2.995 confirmed infections, according to the balance made today by the Directorate-General of Health, which registers 633 new cases compared to Tuesday (+26.8%).
