New York - 17 octobre 2019 - (MAP) -L'organisation des Nations-Unies a annoncé mercredi la désignation de 30 dirigeants influents du monde de l'entreprise, dont la Marocaine Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun, en tant que membres de l’Alliance des investisseurs mondiaux pour le développement durable (GISD).
Les membres de cette Alliance, créée à l’initiative du Secrétaire général de l’ONU Antonio Guterres, travailleront ensemble au cours des deux prochaines années pour que des milliers de milliards de dollars du secteur privé financent les Objectifs de développement durable (ODD).
Mme Miriem Bensalah-Chaqroun a été désignée membre de l’Alliance en sa qualité d’Administrateur du Groupe Holmarcom et Vice-Présidente Directeur Générale de la société "Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès".
L'Alliance GISD est coprésidée par Oliver Bäte, PDG du Groupe Allianz, et Leila Fourie, PDG de la Bourse de Johannesburg, et comprend les dirigeants de grandes entreprises mondiales, telles que Bank of America, Citigroup, ICBC, Infosys, Investec, Santander et UBS.
L’un des trois groupes de travail de l’Alliance GISD, chargé de la concrétisation des opportunités d’investissement dans les Objectifs de développement durable, en particulier dans les pays émergents, sera coprésidé par le Groupe Allianz et Les Eaux Minérales d’Oulmès.
L’objectif est d’opérer un changement dans l’écosystème de l’investissement pour atteindre des opportunités d’investissement évolutives, aboutir à des financements et des canaux d’investissement novateurs pour le développement durable, et consolider la coopération avec les Etats membres, les banques multilatérales de développement et d’autres partenaires en matière d’investissement à long terme.
L’Alliance GISD compte utiliser l’expertise ODD.
Au cours des deux prochaines années, le groupe va livrer des solutions pour débloquer des investissements à long terme dans le développement durable au niveau des entreprises et plus largement du système entier, mobiliser des ressources additionnelles pour les pays et les secteurs qui en ont le plus besoin, trouver des moyens d’augmenter l’impact positif des entreprises, et aligner les pratiques des entreprises à l’Agenda 2030 pour le Développement Durable.
"Je crois fermement que l’investissement dans le développement durable est crucial pour garantir une croissance économique inclusive, réduire les disparités sociales et régionales, et préserver les ressources naturelles", a déclaré, à cette occasion, Mme Bensalah-Chaqroun.
"En tant que membres de l’Alliance GISD, nous visons la création d’opportunités d’investissements alignés avec les ODD, et la promotion de produits financiers innovants et accessibles", a-t-elle assuré.
"Nous sommes confrontés à une inégalité croissante, aux ravages provoqués par les conflits et les catastrophes et au réchauffement rapide de la Terre. Ces dirigeants ont saisi notre sens de l'urgence", a affirmé, pour sa part, le Secrétaire général de l’ONU, Antonio Guterres.
Ces dirigeants "s'engagent à coopérer à travers les frontières, les secteurs financiers et même avec leurs concurrents, car investir dans le développement durable pour tous sur une planète en bonne santé est à la fois éthique et fait sens financièrement", a-t-il dit.
Le dialogue de haut niveau sur le financement du développement tenu en marge du débat général de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies fin septembre dernier a mis en exergue le besoin urgent d'accroître les dépenses publiques dans les secteurs de la santé, de l'éducation, des infrastructures et du changement climatique.
Selon l’ONU, la plupart des pays développés n'honorent pas leurs engagements en matière d'aide publique au développement, alors que la pauvreté, la corruption et l'évasion fiscale limitent les ressources nationales des pays en développement.
Les besoins de financement pour le développement sont estimés à des milliers de milliards de dollars par an et, même si le financement provenant de toutes les sources publiques est maximisé, il restera un déficit important rendant le financement du secteur privé impératif.
