TIRANA, Jan 21 /ATA/ Ivanka Trump, daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, and her husband Jared Kushner, arrived on Wednesday in the coastal city of Vlora.
Reports indicate that they were escorted under tight security measures by police and are staying in the Uji i Ftohtë area.
It has been reported that Jared Kushner will hold a meeting with an architectural firm to discuss the development and investment plans for Sazan Island.
This is not the first time that Ivanka Trump, the daughter of U.S. President Donald Trump, and her husband, Jared Kushner, visit Vlora.
The couple spent several days in the coastal city during their summer vacation last June.
The major international tourism company, Atlantic Incubator Partners LLC, led by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, submitted a proposal to the Albanian Investment Development Agency (AIDA) on December 27, 2023, for a project to invest in Sazan Island.
On December 30, 2024, Jared Kushner's company was granted strategic investor status for the construction of a luxury resort on Sazan Island by the Strategic Investments Committee, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
According to the decision of the Strategic Investments Committee (KIS), the project on Sazan Island is expected to involve an investment of 1.4 billion euros, with construction planned to cover 8% of the island, or 45 hectares.
The strategic investment project includes the development of exclusive villas on Sazan Island, aimed at high-end tourism.
Sazan Island is located between the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea, strategically positioned at the entrance of the Bay of Vlorë, in the Strait of Otranto, which separates Italy from Albania.
