NNA - President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received today several reports from military and security bodies, Civil Defense, and the Lebanese Red Cross indicating that New Year’s Eve passed calmly and safely, thanks to the security measures implemented by the Lebanese Army and other security forces across all Lebanese regions.
President Aoun congratulated all military and security personnel, as well as emergency and relief bodies, on the success of the measures and procedures adopted on New Year’s Eve, and the smooth coordination among them, which helped provide a safe and stable atmosphere for welcoming the New Year in peace and security.
Aoun hoped that the new 2026 will be a year of goodness, security, and stability, in which the aspirations of the Lebanese people for their country are fulfilled, the bleeding southern wound is healed, the residents of southern villages return safely and reassured to their homes, the Lebanese Army extends its sovereignty along the entire southern border, and the hostages are freed.
The President had checked on the operations rooms of the Internal Security Forces, Civil Defense, Lebanese Red Cross, and Lebanese Army on New Year’s Eve, where he was briefed firsthand on the security measures in place throughout Lebanon to maintain security during the celebrations.
