A20-year-old pop-punk singer-songwriter from Sicily, Rob, won the 19th edition of Italy's X Factor on Thursday night.
The artist, whose birth name is Roberta Scandurra, is from Tre Castagni near Catania and triumphed in front of 15,000 delirious fans in Naples' iconic and chilly Piazza del Plebiscito where the final of the reality talent contest took place for the second straight time, beamed live on Sky Italia.
Rob earned a thousands-euro recording contract with Warner as her prize.
In 2022, she won the Tour Music Fest as "Artist of the Year", when some college professors awarded her a scholarship that allowed her to attend a songwriting workshop at Berklee in Boston in June 2023.
Week after week, as an underdog, as she was often called during her career on the talent show, following the advice of her judge Paola Iezzi, she dominated the X Factor 2025 stage with her pop-punk.
Rob performed and reinterpreted songs such as "Call Me" by Blondie, "Driver License" by Olivia Rodrigo (version JXDN), "Heads Will Roll" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, "You Oughta Know" by Alanis Morissette, "Ti sento" by Matia Bazar, "What's Up?" by 4 Non Blondes, Bring Me to Life by Evanescence, Un'emozione da poco by Anna Oxa, Decode by Paramore.
Her first single, penned for the show,is called "Cento Ragazze," (100 Girls) a pop punk rush that describes the end of a love story as a true withdrawal: "he's disappeared and she's left alone to deal with disillusionment", she said.
"I thank everyone who voted for me, and I also thank Paola so much; she was fundamental.
"I couldn't have imagined a better person than you by my side." These were the first words Rob said, immediately after the announcement of her victory at X Factor, and before a long list of thanks to "my mom, my brothers, and Giovanni, who is like my father." And then her teacher and her entire family: "I love you all." EroCaddeo, mentored by Achille Lauro, came second; Delia, coached by Jake La Furia, third; and PierC, the pre-final favourite mentored by first-time coach Francesco Gabbani, fourth.
