TIRANA, December 5/ATA/ On occasion of the 113th anniversary of its foundation, the Albanian Post in collaboration with the Central State Film Archive, organized a special event entitled “History of the Albanian Post: Documentary Exhibition”.

This event is organized within the framework of the foundation anniversary of the first Albanian postal administration. In context of the event, there was opened a carefully curated exhibition on the historical development of the Albanian Post.

December 5th constitutes one of the most fundamental moments in the history of the national postal service. The event organized on this anniversary aims to promote the Albanian postal heritage, highlight the role of the Albanian Post in the administrative construction of the country and bring to the attention of the public rare archival and philatelic materials, which constitute important evidence of national identity.

Attending the opening of this exhibition was administrator of the Albanian Post Office Etjen Xhafaj, as well as members of the Parliament. The exhibition will be open to the public until December 12.

The documentary exhibition was prepared by the Albanian Post and has an informative guide on its materials.

During the event, there was also shown the Albanian Post documentary “105 Years of Albanian Stamps”. This historical documentary presents the development of the Albanian postal system from its creation to the present day. There was also played a collage of archival film materials that narrate the activity of postal, telegraphic and telephone services over the years, prepared by the Film Archive. /j.p/p.s./
