Inflation in supermarket chains rose by 1.75% in November compared with the same month in 2025, while compared with October it remained unchanged (-0.05%), according to the monthly survey by the Research Institute of Retail Consumer Goods (IELKA). Overall, the rolling 12-month period (December 2024-November 2025) showed an increase of +1.06%.
The largest price decreases in November 2025 compared with November 2024 were recorded in the following categories: fresh fruit and vegetables (-7.37%), detergents and cleaning products (-3.65%), grocery food items (-3.60%), pet food and supplies (-3.01%), and disposable and household items (-1.87%).
According to the survey, the recorded decreases result from both the normalisation of the market and lower producer prices for certain products. The largest reductions were seen in fresh fruit and vegetables (with the decrease coming from the vegetable category, which has recently benefited from weather conditions) and in detergents and cleaning products.
The largest price increases in November 2025 compared with November 2024 were recorded in the following categories: breakfast items & beverages (+13.12%), fresh meat (+12.72%), biscuits, chocolates, confectionery (+10.67%), fresh fish and seafood (+5.80%), and dairy products & refrigerated juices (+4.63%).
