Italy's employment rate climbed to 62.7% in October, the highest level on record since the start of the statistical series in January 2004, Istat said on Tuesday.
The national statistics agency said 24.208 million people were in employment in Italy in October.
The number of people in employment in Italy rose by 75,000 in October with respect to September and by 224,000 compared to October 2024, taking the employment rate up 0.1 of a percentage point, according to provisional data.
Istat said the unemployment rate fell 0.2 of a point to 6.0% in October, while the youth jobless rate dropped 1.9 points to 19.8%.
It said the inactivity rate was stable at 33.2%.
