ANSA - Inter fail to maintain perfect Champions League record

Serie A giants lose 2-1 at Atletico Madrid

Inter failed to maintain their perfect record in this season's Champions League on Wednesday when they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Atletico Madrid.
The Serie A giants came back after Julian Alvarez gave the hosts an early lead, with Piotr Zielinski equalizing after the break.
But they were unable to withstand the pressure they came under in the closing stages, and Jose Gimenez headed in a corner in stoppage time to condemn them to defeat.
Inter are now fourth in the league stage table and are among a group of four teams on 12 points from five games, along with holders Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
Arsenal, who beat Bayern 3-1 on Wednesday, lead with 15 points.
Atalanta climbed to 10th in the table with 10 points by thumping Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to goals by Ademola Lookman, Éderson and Charles De Ketelaere.
Napoli and Juventus gave major boosts to their Champions League campaigns by beating Qarabag 2-0 at home and Bodo/Glimt 3-2 away respectively on Tuesday.
Serie A champions Napoli are 20th with seven points, while Juventus are 22nd with six.
