ANSA - Sinner says always striving to improve after ATP finals win

I'm a better player than at end of 2024 says Italian

Italy's Jannik Sinner stressed how he is always striving to improve after beating world number one Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the ATP Finals in Turin on Sunday to retain the title.
The 24-year-old had vowed to work on making his game more varied and unpredictable after losing the US Open final to his Spanish rival in September and the results of his efforts were on show as he prevailed in straight sets on Sunday.
"This year making four Grand Slam finals, coming here, winning here, having this big (winning) streak in end of the year, it's amazing," said Sinner, who ended 2024 as world number one.
"I feel I am a better player than last year, I think this is the most important.
"It's all part of the process.

I always say, and believe, that if you keep working and trying to be a better player, the results, they're going to come.
"This year it was like this.
"Many, many wins, and not many losses.
"All the losses I had, I tried to see the positive thing and trying to evolve me as a player.

I feel like or I felt like this happened in a very good way.
"I'm extremely happy with the season."
