ATA - Pyramid: A Key Attraction in Tirana’s tourism offerings

TIRANA, Oct 21 /ATA/ Tirana has become a major tourist attraction, drawing not only locals but also visitors from the region, Europe, and around the world.

The Albanian capital offers a rich variety of tourism experiences, including cultural, historical, architectural, and culinary tourism, as well as nature and mountain tourism in the areas surrounding the city.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared on social media today images of tourists flocking to Tirana in large groups, describing the period as a “tourist autumn.”

Among the stops was the Tirana Pyramid, now transformed into a hub of innovation and culture, complete with colorful structures, stairs, and slides.

The Pyramid is among the attractions that tourists can explore up close in Tirana, and it is also becoming one of the region’s major innovation hubs.

Additionally, the Pyramid serves as a tourism landmark and a testament to history, showing how a former museum dedicated to dictator Enver Hoxha has been converted into a popular attraction for both locals and visitors.

The number of tourists has been steadily increasing, thanks in part to various events held in the capital—both sporting and artistic—which have attracted visitors from abroad as well as from Albanian-speaking regions.

Tirana boasts around 56 cultural heritage sites and 141 tourist attractions, including the Clock Tower, which reopened in June 2016 after renovations, the Pyramid, the “House of Leaves” Museum, Bunk’Art 1 and 2, Skanderbeg Square, the New Bazaar, the Castle, and many other attractions.
