APS - IMF/WB: Bank of Algeria’s governor takes part in annual meetings

ALGIERS, 12 October 2025 (APS) - The governor of the Bank of Algeria (BA), Salah Eddine Taleb, is participating from 13 to 18 October, in Washington, in the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB), the Bank of Algeria said Sunday in a press release.

During these assemblies, several subjects will be discussed relating to economic prospects and growth challenges in a world in full transition.

In this respect, Taleb will speak in his capacity as constituency representative of countries at the plenary session of the IMFC (International Monetary and Financial Committee) of the IMF.

He will also participate in the meeting of MENAP countries (Middle East North Africa, Afghanistan and Pakistan) with the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, as well as in meetings as part of the African Caucus (African Consultation Group).

The governor’s agenda includes bilateral meetings with the director of the Middle East and Central Asia department at the IMF as well as with officials of international financial institutions and central bank governors, said the press release.
