ALGIERS- US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau has expressed his country's desire to enhance economic relations with Algeria, pointing out to the "amazing opportunities" that benefit the peoples of both countries.

In a message addressed to "the great people of Algeria," through a video posted by the United States Embassy in Algeria on its social media networks, Landau said that "one of the most exciting things I've been working on lately is opening up the commercial relationship between our two great countries," adding that there are "amazing opportunities that benefit your people and ours."

The US Deputy Secretary of State said he was "delighted to meet" Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf last Thursday, in New York, "to discuss some of these opportunities."

"I look forward to the chance to visit Algeria, " he said, adding: "I just want to say how excited I am about the chance for our countries to come closer together and have both our peoples become prosperous."
