ZAGREB, 25 Sept (Hina) - The Financial Agency (FINA) presented the CroCIP programme -- Croatian Central Info Point for Debt Advice Services and Financial Literacy, aimed at raising citizens' financial literacy and increasing access to advisory support in the area of debt management.
CroCIP is being implemented with the support of the European Union.
As a centralised platform, it will provide reliable information on debt, financial planning tools, and educational resources.
"The core of the project will be a central information platform that will be up-to-date and practical," said Vinka Ilak, member of FINA's Management Board.
The purpose of the programme is to improve access to advisory services by organising meetings with various stakeholders and institutions, as well as other activities that will contribute to raising awareness and encouraging consumers to actively engage.
The expected outcomes of the project include: better-informed consumers, improved financial literacy through online learning and education in schools and universities, easier access to information, and a national campaign involving radio promotion, events and posters.
During the implementation period, from 1 September 2025 to 31 August 2026, a central platform will be established on FINA's website, featuring educational materials, practical tools, and contact details for institutions that can support citizens in resolving financial difficulties.
Plans include: financial education in secondary schools and universities, the establishment of e-corners in 23 FINA branches and a promotional campaign using both online and offline channels.
There is a significant number of over-indebted citizens in Croatia, and according to FINA's data, more than 196,000 people are currently subject to account blocks, it was stated at the presentation.
