ALGIERS- Many Algerian public and private companies signed agreements with African companies Tuesday, as part of the 4th Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), aimed at exporting their domestic products.
The signing ceremony took place at the Exhibition Centre of Algiers, in the presence of several members of the government, Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency Omar Rekkache, and Chairman of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council Kamel Moula.
Export agreements worth a total of USD11 million were signed between the Géant Electronics and companies from Niger, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, while Aris signed two contracts worth USD10 million for the export of footwear to Tanzania and Zimbabwe.
The Algerian shipping group GATMA has signed a six-million-dollar deal with a Mauritanian cement transport and export company, which will enable 50,000 tonnes of Algerian cement to be sold to Mauritania.
The state-owned local industry group Divindus has signed memoranda of understanding to establish commercial partnerships with African companies in Ghana, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
The Algerian mechanical engineering group AGM has signed five contracts worth over USD40 million for the export of agricultural equipment to Tunisia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Tanzania, Senegal and Ethiopia.
In the tourism sector, the start-up Funk Booking has signed two agreements, one with the South African company Group 126 Tourism, worth one million dollars, and the other with the Nigerian company "Instruments of Africa" for 500,000 dollars.
Both agreements focus on African tourism and cultural cooperation and exchange.
A contract was also signed between Tayssir and the Tunisian company Cactus Trading Company for the export of 50,000 tonnes of urea to Tunisia, worth ten million dollars.
Chery Algeria has signed two industrial subcontracting agreements.
The first is with the National Tube and Flat Product Processing Company (Anabib) to supply bumpers and headlights for the cars produced by the company.
The second contract was signed between Chery Algeria and Cirta Automotive, which will supply the Chery factory with a range of spare parts for suspension systems.
