ANSA - No longer aiming for 100% electric by 2030 - Stellantis

EU Green transition targets unachievable says Imparato

Stellantis is no longer aiming to be a 100% producer of electric vehicles by 2030 and the EU's Green transition targets are unachievable, the Italian-French-American auto group's Chief Operating Officer for Europe, Jean-Philippe Imparato, said at the Munich Motor Show on Monday.
Imparato said Stellantis, whose brands include Jeep, Peugeot, Fiat, Lancia, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler, had started looking at revising its Dare Forward strategic plan under new CEO Antonio Filosa.
"Much of the content of the Dare Forward plan is still valid and can be confirmed," Imparato said.
"Some of it will probably change - 100% electrification by 2030 is no longer achievable, for obvious reasons related to the evolution of the market.
"We started discussing Dare Forward with CEO Filosa last week.
"I'm sure Filosa will also provide updates because we need him to present us with a vision of what Stellantis could be in five years, 10 years.
"The targets set by Europe for the automotive sector for 2030 and 2035 are no longer achievable unless we assume we're facing a market collapse of around 30% and the financial collapse of all European manufacturers.
"So we strongly welcome the strategic discussion on the evolution of regulations in Europe; it's important.".
