NNA - Lebanon launches Phoenician tourist trail to boost heritage and economic growth

NNA - Under the auspices of the Lebanese Ministries of Information and Tourism and in collaboration with the Municipality of Jbeil, the company CREEL inaugurated the “Phoenician Tourist Trail” during an official dinner held at the historic port of Byblos.

The event brought together ministers, MPs, and public figures, and honored 20 municipalities from across Lebanon for their role in safeguarding Phoenician sites and promoting local heritage.

Tourism Minister Laura Lahoud described the project as a bridge between Lebanon’s ancient history and its modern potential, stressing that the country's geographic and cultural diversity is its strength. She noted that connecting Phoenician cities boosts tourism, supports local artisans, and contributes to economic growth.

Information Minister Paul Morcos highlighted the role of art and culture in preserving collective memory, calling the initiative a model of development rooted in sovereignty, law, and national identity.

The Phoenician Trail stands as a unifying national effort to link heritage with progress and sustainability.
