ANA-MPA - - Bookings for Thessaloniki to NE Aegean and Sporades Islands sold out in August

Blue Star Ferries and SeaJets, linking Thessaloniki with northeastern Aegean islands and the Sporades Islands, were nearly fully booked (100%) for August and 90% for July, shipping agents and representatives of the above conventional and high-speed ferries told Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA-MPA) on Monday.

"We don't even have a single available seat to sell," Lina Miliadou, shipping agent of the 'Miliadou' agency that represents Blue Star Ferries in Kavala and Thessaloniki. Specificially, schedules from Thessaloniki to Limnos, Lesvos, Chios, Samos (Vathy), Patmos and Leros began in 2021 and run every Sunday at 16:00 with the ship 'Diagoras'. Ticket prices have not changed since then, Miliadou told ANA-MPA. As of June 8, when the season opened, the ship's vehicle and cabin reservations are always sold out, she said, forecasting the same for 2025.

"Limnos continues to be the number one popular destination of travellers, to a rate of over 50% compared to other northeastern Aegean islands that 'Diagoras' goes to," Miliadou said. The ship has a capacity of 1,462 passengers and 274 vehicles.

SeaJets agent Haris Karacharisis told ANA-MPA that the schedules from Thessaloniki to Sporades Islands for August have been sold out (100%). Skopelos is the most popular destination, with a 45% share of bookings, following by Skiathos with 35% and 20%. In July, capacity had reached 80% to 90% on sailings over the weekend and 60% to 70% for those during the week.
SeaJets' 'Speedrunner Jet' leaves Thessaloniki daily at 09:30 during the week, and at 08:30 on Saturdays.

The same-day return is 14:35 from Alonissos, 15:00 from Skopelos, and 15:45 from Skiathos. Return trips on the weekend are offered only on Sunday - 16:15 from Alonissos, 16:40 from Skopelos, and 17:25 from Skiathos.

Sailings from Thessaloniki to Sporades Islands will be reduced from five per week to one per week between September 1 and 9, with the season ending on September 9. Tickets are at 2024 levels and half-price for students.

The Thessaloniki-Sporades connection was funded by the state with 3.41 million (Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy) in collaboration with the Regions of Central Macedonia and Thessaly. Last year, over 60,000 passengers used the line.
