ZAGREB, 19 July (Hina) - For the third consecutive year, Dubrovnik has been named the best group travel destination by readers of the prestigious American magazine Global Traveler, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board has said.

The city won the “Best Leisure Destination for Groups” award, beating out competition from Costa Rica, Los Cabos in Mexico, Italy, and Cartagena in Colombia.

“American tourists rank first in terms of arrivals and second in nights. Direct United Airlines flights between Dubrovnik and the United States further highlight the importance of the US market. This recognition significantly boosts Dubrovnik’s visibility in that market,” said Miroslav Drašković, director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.

Global Traveler presents its Leisure Lifestyle Awards based on a reader survey. The survey included open-ended questions covering a variety of categories in luxury and lifestyle travel.

The award was accepted on behalf of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board by Leila Krešić-Jurić, director of the Croatian National Tourist Board’s US Office.
