Italy's Gregorio Paltrinieri and Ginevra Taddeucci pulled off another silver double at the Swimming World Championships in Singapore on Friday, coming second in the men's and women's 5km open-water events respectively, having both achieved the same result in their 10km races on Wednesday.
As on Wednesday, 30-year-old Paltrinieri was beaten into second by Germany's Florian Wellbrock.
Similarly Taddeucci, the 28-year-old bronze medallist at the Paris Olympics, came second again to Australian Moesha Johnson.
"It was the hardest race of my career," said Paltrinieri after adding to a huge medal collection, which includes six world championships golds and the 2016 Olympic gold in the 1,500m freestyle.
