The Italian economy is giving out positive signs, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said Friday.
The Italian economy continues to show positive signs," and after "a 0.3% GDP increase in the first three months," 2025 "already has achieved growth of 0.5%," with an all-time high for employment and "comforting inflation figures," said Giorgetti in his speech to the Italian Banking Association (ABI) annual assembly.
Giorgetti also said that the government had done its part and now it was up to the banks to make progress.
He also said that the government does not look at the nationality of banker, "but only at their ability to carry out their functions".
