Electric scooters are set to be obliged to have a licence plate on them in Italy soon, in accordance with a transport ministry decree applying an aspect of the country's new highway code.
The plate will be in the form of a plastic sticker featuring three numbers and three letters tied to the owner of the e-scooter, rather than the vehicle itself.
It will have to be affixed to tge rear fender or, if there is nowhere suitable there, on the front steering column.
The decree will be published in the Official Gazette in two week's time, where the details of its coming into force will be clarified.
