Aribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Sunday, June 29, to inaugurate the week dedicated to the Liguria Region at Expo 2025 Osaka.
The activities devoted to Liguria officially started in the presence of the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Mario Vattani, the chief of staff of Liguria, Admiral Massimiliano Nannini, the Region's councillor in charge of economic development, Alessio Piana, the president of Liguria International Carlo Golda, and the director general of the Agency In Liguria, Matteo Garnero.
The initiatives are set to continue at the Italy Pavilion until July 5.
Ambassador Vattani accompanied Liguria's official delegation during a visit of the Italy Pavilion with its excellencies and artistic treasures before taking time to tour the spaces dedicated to the region, highlighting the themes connected to the art of craftsmanship.
Sunday was also the first day during which Ligurian craftsmen showcased their savoir-faire to the public of Expo 2025 Osaka in special areas devoted to their demonstrations.
The craftsmen built violins, renovated stone materials and crafted jewellery, among others, in an homage to beauty, culture and excellence in which they showed the extent of their skills based on ancient traditions mixed with modern techniques.
Monday opened with an institutional welcome at 10:30 am local time and continued with thematic panels on the blue economy and ports.
The 65th Genoa International Boat Show will also be presented on Monday.
