ZAGREB, 26 June (Hina) - Croatia will donate one million euros annually to the Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance until 2030, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Brussels.
Croatia remains a committed partner in public health, contributing one million euros per year to the Gavi programme,” he said at the "Health & Prosperity through Immunisation" global summit.
The summit, organised by the EU and the Gates Foundation, aims to secure funding for Gavi over the next five-year period. It brought together world leaders, organisations, vaccine manufacturers, representatives of civil society, and the private sector.
Gavi's goal is to provide vaccines for 500 million children and the most vulnerable by 2030.
In a world where science and innovation have given us the power to prevent life-threatening diseases, it is our collective responsibility to ensure that no one is left behind. Through joint action, we can make vaccines accessible to everyone, Plenković said.
