APS - Countries along Trans-Saharan Road unanimously support economic corridor project

ALGIERS- The 76th meeting of the Trans-Saharan Road Liaison Committee (CLRT), held Tuesday in Algiers, reflects the determination of all the countries crossed by this infrastructure to achieve the objective of creating an economic corridor along this road, Minister of Public Works and Basic Infrastructure Lakhdar Rekhroukh said.

The first thing to come out of this meeting is the readiness of the Trans-Saharan Road countries to continue working towards achieving the committees objectives, as they were there regardless of the economic climate. They have shown their interest in the economic corridor project, Rekhroukh told APS on the sidelines of the meeting.

Designed with the continental economic integration in mind, the corridor project aims to develop the Trans-Saharan Road, through the facilitation of the transit, transport, trade and the generation of investment.
