ANSA - ANSA remains Italy's most trusted news brand - report

Agency tops Reuters Institute report for 8th year

ANSA has come top among Italy's news brands for the trust the public has in it for the eighth consecutive year in the annual Reuters Institute's Digital News Report The 2025 report, which profiles the media situations in 47 countries, said 74% of Italians trust ANSA.
    That put Italy's top news agency ahead of the SkyTg24 news channel and financial daily Sole 24 Ore (both 67%) and the TG La7 news (61%).
    The report added that the agency's website, ANSA.it, was joint second in Italy for weekly online reach, with 17% of people using it at least once a week, the same as Mediaset's TgCom24.
    Only the Fanpage site did better with 22%.
    "The Italian media market is experiencing profound transformation, shaped by the rapid rise of digital platforms and the continuing but changing role of television," the report said.
    "International tech companies like Google, Meta, and Netflix dominate online revenues, presenting challenges for domestic traditional media players.
    "While TV news consumption remains relatively stable, print media face ongoing decline - and willingness to pay for online news remains a challenge".
