HINA - Environmental Protection Fund co-financing photovoltaic power plants on houses

ZAGREB, 27 May (Hina) - Citizens who install and commission a photovoltaic power plant on their family home this year will be eligible for up to 50% co-financing of the investment from the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, with applications being accepted from 6 June.

The public call is worth €10 million. The Fund says "these retroactive incentives are intended exclusively for citizens who have already installed or plan to install their power plants and who will receive confirmation of permanent operation from the distribution system operator (HEP ODS) within this year."

The Fund will co-finance €600 per kW of the installed plant’s nominal capacity. In order to be eligible for the funding, applicants must have clear ownership of the property, the building must be legally constructed and the applicant must have permanent residence at the address of the house on which the photovoltaic panels are installed.

The Fund says the use of solar energy is an important step towards a sustainable and energy-independent future for Croatia, and therefore continuously provides support for the installation of photovoltaic systems, making renewable energy sources more accessible to citizens.

It notes that in the past two years, around 5,600 photovoltaic systems have been installed on family homes with the help of incentives.

The Fund expects this number to increase by an additional 2,500 household systems this year, contributing to the green transition of homes and reducing energy costs for households.
