ZAGREB, 16 Feb (Hina) - The average fee for account management in Croatia, including mobile banking services, is among the lowest, amounting to €2.97, according to a study examining banks operating in 10 EU countries, published by EY Croatia.
In addition to Croatia, the analysis covered banks operating in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Ireland, Italy, Hungary, Germany, Slovakia and Slovenia. It provides insights into the fees for the most representative services of banks which collectively account for more than 50% of the market share by total assets in each country.
Based on publicly available data from bank websites, the average account management fee is highest in Italy at €8.79, followed by Slovakia (€6.67), Germany (€6.02), Austria (€4.49), Ireland (€3.50), Slovenia (€3.31) and Hungary (€3.07). Only Belgium (€1.81) and the Czech Republic (€0.85) have lower average fees than Croatia.
EY Croatia conducted the analysis to assess the current state and level of the most common banking fees. The study was based on publicly available current tariff lists and announced changes. For Zagrebačka Banka, the analysis considered the tariff effective from 8 January, for Privredna Banka Zagreb, the tariff effective from 1 May, and for Erste Bank, the tariff scheduled to take effect from 1 April.
