ZAGREB, 21 Dec (Hina) - The average monthly net salary paid to employees in legal entities in Croatia for October amounted to €1,340, a year-on-year nominal increase of 13.8% and a real increase of 11.4%, show data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) released on Friday.
Compared to September, the average net salary for October was 1.4% higher nominally and 0.3% higher in real terms.
The highest average monthly net salary in October was recorded in the air transport sector, at €2,206, while the lowest was recorded in clothing manufacturing, at €863.
The median net salary for October stood at €1,160, meaning half of the employees earned less and half earned more than this amount, the DZS reported.
The average monthly gross salary in October amounted to €1,855, up 1.4% nominally and 0.3% in real terms compared to September. Annually, the gross salary increased by 13.8% nominally and 11.4% in real terms.
Similar to net salaries, the highest average gross salary was in air transport (€3,228), while the lowest was in clothing manufacturing (€1,123).
For the period from January to October 2024, the average monthly net salary was €1,308, representing a nominal growth of 14.9% and a real growth of 11.7% compared to the same period in 2023.
In October, employees worked an average of 182 paid hours, a 10.3% increase from September. The highest number of paid hours was recorded in water transport (192), while the lowest was in social work without accommodation (168).
The average net hourly wage for October was €7.21, 7% lower than in September but 9.2% higher compared to October 2023.
