ALGIERS- Huawei Algeria launched Sunday in Algiers the 10th young talent development programme "Seeds for The Future 2024," with the participation of 50 students from various higher education institutions, as well as the post and telecommunication sector, the company said Monday in a statement.
"As part of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between Huawei Algeria, the ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the ministry of Post and Telecommunications, a list of students from various Algerian universities partnered with Huawei ICT Academy, was established by the two ministries," the statement said.
Students from 40 universities and institutes "have been invited to participate in the training programme (24-30 August 2024). At the end of the training, 20 students will be selected following a test in information and communication technologies to be able to take part in an intensive training session in China late September, and will represent Algeria in the next international contests and events late this year."
During the training, the students "will attend presentations on Huawei technologies, virtually visit Huawei facilities and participate in technical discussions on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, personal data protection, cloud computing and cloud security, Big Data and renewable energies."
They will also attend "personal development and leadership sessions, including the promotion of innovative presentations," the statement said.
