ROME-The 3rd session of the Algeria-Italy strategic dialogue on bilateral ties, political issues and security took place Monday in Rome, under the co-chairmanship of the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Lounes Magramane and the Secretary-General of Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ricardo Guariglia.
The session, attended by a high-level multisectoral delegation, was an opportunity for both sides to conduct a progress assessment of bilateral cooperation and its prospects in various sectors, in the light of the outcomes of the 2nd session of this cooperation mechanism on 2-3 July 2024.
The meeting is also a major step in preparing for upcoming bilateral events, primarily the 5th Algeria-Italy Summit.
During the talks, Magramane and his Italian counterpart focused on bilateral ties and their enhancement prospects, regional and international issues of common interest, particularly the situation in Gaza, the Western Sahara issue, the situation in the Sahel region and the relations between Algeria and the European Union (EU).
