ANSA - Mina set to issue 'Delightful Unreleased Extras'

From Beatles to Daniele, Fontana, Fossati, 10 tracks of rediscoveries and new recordings

Italian music icon Mina is set to issue her new album, Delightful Unreleased Extras, on October 9.
"Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze" features ten tracks—some being recordings that had never left her PDU label's archives, and others recorded specifically for this record.
"This isn't a press conference; it's a listening session," explained Massimiliano Pani, Mina's son and the album's producer, while presenting the record at the Voce space within the Triennale di Milano on Tuesday.
"You are here to listen to an artist who hasn't made a public appearance in fifty years, yet her credibility remains intact: her life's work has been her music." The tracklist spans diverse repertoires and genres, including—among others—Jimmy Fontana's "La mia serenata," "Carrettieri" (written by Alfonso Gibilaro), Henri Salvador's "Dans mon île," Pino Daniele's "Yes I Know My Way," and the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby." Ivano Fossati's "Settembre" is the only track on the album that is neither a cover nor a previously unreleased song; it was chosen simply to make it available to the public once again.
*Dilettevoli inedite eccedenze* is the third volume in a series through which the 86-year-old Tigress of Cremona, whoretired from live public performances and television appearances in 1978, revisits songs that had previously been shelved.
The project is rounded out by twelve previously unseen photographs—selected from the singer's archives by Mina and Mauro Balletti—that accompany the booklet.
