ALGIERS - The Speaker of the Greek Parliament, Nikitas Kaklamanis, affirmed on Sunday that views between Algeria and his country align on issues of common interest.

In a press statement following the audience granted to him by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Kaklamanis said that "the meeting covered several topics on which the views of both countries converge," pointing to a shared commitment to foster friendly relations between the two countries in the service of their peoples.

During the meeting, he "conveyed feelings of friendship from the Greek people to the Algerian people, and to the President of the Republic personally."

Kaklamanis also praised Algeria's achievements since independence.

"I expressed my admiration and congratulated the President of the Republic on these achievements," he said.

He concluded by thanking his hosts for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him during his visit to Algeria.
