NNA - Finance Minister Yassine Jaber met a World Bank delegation to review priority files under Lebanon’s partnership with the institution, including regional road and railway connectivity, electricity-sector reforms, customs modernization and financial-sector initiatives.

Talks focused on strengthening regional trade links, expanding electricity metering to improve collection and support the transmission network, and additional financing for customs reforms.

The meeting also addressed mechanisms to launch housing and solar-energy loans, public-private partnerships, guarantees through MIGA and ongoing discussions with the IFC.

Participants further reviewed the digital identity project, the digital laboratory at OMSAR, and implementation of the GATE and LEAP projects.

Jaber stressed the ministry’s commitment to accelerating reforms and strengthening cooperation with the World Bank to support economic recovery and improve public revenues.
