Italy's GDP is set to grow by 0.9% in 2026—up from 0.5% in 2025—before slowing to 0.6% in 2027, according to the OECD's Interim Economic Outlook presented today in Paris.
These estimates have been revised compared to the previous Outlook released in June.
Before the summer, the organization had projected 0.5% growth for Italy in 2026 (0.4 percentage points lower than the current figure).
The forecast for 2027, meanwhile, remained unchanged at 0.6%.
The OECD projects that inflation will rise in the short term, reflecting higher commodity prices, before gradually easing in 2027 as falling energy prices and tighter monetary policy help curb broader price pressures.
According to the OECD, headline inflation across the G20 will fall from 4.1% in 2026 to 3.6% in 2027.
In Italy, the Paris-based international organization expects inflation to drop from 3% in 2026 to 2.6% in 2027 (0.4 percentage points higher than the previous outlook from June).
