Cagliari's 20-year-old French striker Yael Trepy has come out of a drug-induced coma two days after nearly drowning in the swimming pool of a villa on the Costa Smeralda on Sunday evening, hospital sources said Tuesday evening saying he was still in the intensive care unit but gradually improving.
His condition at the Santissima Annunziata Hospital in Sassari is o the mend, they said.
The latest bulletin from the AOU Sassari confirms that the player, after approximately forty-eight hours in a medically induced coma, has awakened and been extubated.
Upon awakening, the patient has shown a full recovery of consciousness: he is alert and cooperative and, at present, has no obvious neurological deficits.
His respiratory and haemodynamic conditions are stable.
