TIRANA, Aug. 9 /ATA/ - Albania's economic activity and fiscal indicators strengthened in 2026, with businesses reporting higher turnover, the number of registered companies increasing and state budget revenues rising, according to the Ministry of Finance.

Data from the Finance Ministry show state budget revenues collected during 2025-2026 were around 1.2 billion euros higher than in 2024.

Albanian businesses reported around 3 billion euros in additional turnover in the first half of 2026, a 7% increase from the same period a year earlier, the ministry said.

The number of registered businesses also increased. By June 2026,

148,270 businesses were registered with the tax administration, up 12% from the same period in 2025.

In the agricultural sector, 2,397 farmers had applied between July 1 and July 27 for compensation under the 10% VAT reimbursement scheme.

The total amount requested was 587 million leks.

Fiscal data also point to an expansion of economic activity and greater business formalisation, reflected in a growing number of entities declaring their activity and contributing to public revenues, the ministry said.
