Former Chelsea, Napoli, Parma and Italy forward Gianfranco Zola is set to become the Italian Soccer Federation's (FIGC) new coordinator for youth projects, FIGC President Giovanni Malagò told ANSA by telephone on Wednesday.
    Malagò said that, while doing the new job, Zola will continue in his current roles as the Vice President of Lega Pro, the body that runs the third tier of Italian soccer, Serie C.
    "(FIGC Technical Director Claudio) Ranieri and I strongly wanted him on board," Malagò said.
    "Zola's charisma, expertise, and commitment to young players—demonstrated during his time with Lega Pro—are the best foundation for building our future".
