TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ Hundreds of volunteers, professional divers and local residents joined the environmental initiative “Preserving Our Sea” in Porto Palermo for the fourth consecutive year.
Prime Minister Edi Rama shared footage from the coastal clean-up campaign on social media today, describing it as “a beautiful example of care for the environment and natural heritage.”
“Porto Palermo, where the ‘Preserving Our Sea’ initiative has once again brought together hundreds of volunteers, professional divers and members of the local community for the fourth year in a row to clean up the coastline, Ali Pasha’s Castle and the surrounding waters, stands as a fine example of protecting the environment and our natural heritage,” Rama said.
The clean-up operation focused on the coastline, the area surrounding Ali Pasha’s Castle, and the waters of the bay. Professional divers worked to remove underwater waste, while volunteers and members of the local community cleaned the shoreline.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the protection of marine ecosystems and the preservation of Porto Palermo’s natural and cultural heritage.
