ALGIERS - The Sonatrach group said in a statement on Sunday that the two agreements signed in Berlin with Bosch and Siemens Energy, on the sidelines of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune's official visit to Germany, will enhance cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy transition.
The statement said that the Sonatrach group signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) last Friday with the German company Robert Bosch (PTY) Ltd to identify opportunities for developing cooperation in the field of green hydrogen.
Under this protocol, the two parties will study the opportunities to establish a partnership aimed at developing the green hydrogen sector in Algeria, including the manufacturing of electrolyzers and the production of hydrogen.
This protocol will also allow the two parties to exchange expertise and technical and technological knowledge related to green hydrogen, the statement added.
The Bosch company is a leading global supplier of technology and services, and is also considered one of the most prominent players in the development of green hydrogen, covering various links in the value chain.
The public group also signed another MoU with Siemens Energy Global GmbH & Co. KG to identify opportunities for developing cooperation in the fields of equipment maintenance and repair, training, green hydrogen, and compression solutions.
Under this protocol, the two parties will work to jointly mobilize their experts to develop technological solutions aimed at improving performance and exploring the prospects of digitalization and predictive maintenance.
This cooperation also aims to promote the local development of the value chains for green steel and green ammonia and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise through technical and administrative training programs.
Siemens Energy is a "pioneering" global company in the field of energy technology, active in the sectors of electricity production and transmission, industrial decarbonization, and energy transformation.
The company plays a "pivotal role" in supporting the energy transition globally by providing "innovative, reliable, and sustainable" solutions that contribute to the development of low-carbon energy systems in the medium and long term, the statement added.
