ATA - Albania maintains resilient growth outlook despite global headwinds, minister Malaj says

TIRANA, June 12 /ATA/ Albania continues to demonstrate its position as one of the most resilient economies in the region, maintaining a positive growth outlook despite a global environment marked by economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and inflationary pressures.

Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj announced today that the latest report by the World Bank indicates that the Albanian economy remains among the most resilient in the region. At the same time, economic growth projections for most countries have been revised downward due to ongoing challenges affecting the global economy.

According to the report, Albania’s economy is projected to grow by 3.4% in 2026, a rate that remains significantly above the regional average of 2.9%. This assessment reflects the resilience of the country’s economy and its ability to withstand external shocks.

Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj emphasized that this outcome is evidence of the effectiveness of the economic and fiscal policies implemented in recent years, which have contributed to building a more competitive and diversified economy with reduced exposure to adverse international developments.

According to him, the World Bank’s assessment serves as a clear indication that structural reforms and the prudent management of public finances are delivering tangible results, supporting economic growth, investment, and the well-being of citizens.
