ANSA - Juventus appoint Giovanni Carnevali as new CEO

Damien Comolli steps down amid shake-up after disappointing campaign

Juventus said Friday that Damien Comolli has stepped down as its chief executive with Giovanni Carnevali coming in as CEO and general manager in a change at the helm after a disappointing season on the pitch in which the Turin giants finished sixth in Serie A and failed to qualify for the Champions League.
Carnevali had been in charge of Sassuolo since 2014.
"I am proud and honoured to join a club with such a rich history and strong identity," said Carnevali in a statement.
"I would like to thank the club, the majority shareholder, and John Elkann for the trust they have placed in me.
"I approach this new challenge with a strong sense of responsibility and with the conviction that, through daily commitment, it is possible to build a sustainable path of growth and a successful future.
"Together with all areas of the organisation, we will work to ensure that Juventus continues to be a leading force at both national and international level, in full respect of the club's heritage and the ambitions of our fans".
