NNA - President Joseph Aoun held a phone call before noon with Jordan’s King Abdullah II of Jordan to discuss the situation in Lebanon and the region in light of current developments.
During the call, President Aoun expressed Lebanon’s gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan under the directives of King Abdullah II, particularly through humanitarian aid convoys sent to help Lebanese displaced by ongoing Israeli attacks on their villages and towns.
Aoun said Jordan’s support for Lebanon across multiple sectors reflects the deep-rooted ties between the two countries and peoples, and affirmed both nations’ commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
For his part, King Abdullah II reiterated Jordan’s continued support for Lebanon and its people, especially during the current sensitive period, expressing backing for the steps Lebanon is taking to achieve security and stability and restore sovereignty over all its territory.
The call also included discussions on ongoing efforts to reinforce the ceasefire and explore possible solutions in light of the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations taking place in Washington.
President Aoun also congratulated the Jordanian monarch on the occasion of Eid al-Adha, wishing him continued health and prosperity for the Jordanian people.
